Sony is set to launch Google TV into the UK early next year as part of its Internet TV brand.

In a recent Tech magazine there was a press release relating to this topic,

The company plans to ship products such as the Sony Internet TV and Blu-Ray player with integrated Google TV by early Spring 2011, according to a Sony source.

“We’ll launch in spring 2011”, the source told T3, “There will be an exclusive period of Google TV with Sony until April by which time competitors will start to launch their products.”

Although exact times are yet to be confirmed, the timing looks set to be a UK market scoop for Sony, in spite of keen competition from a host of other manufacturers such as Logitech.

Logitech recently launched their US-only solution the Logitech Revue, which T3 saw in an exclusive preview, but UK dates have been elusive so far.

In the US, Sony offers Sony Internet TV’s in 24-inch, 32-inch, 40-inch, and 46-inch models, and prices range from $599.99 to $1,399.99.

Google TV aims to integrate web video, regular TV and regular websites.
